The May payment to Republic Wireless for my wife’s phone was $21.32. That includes unlimited calling and texting, 1 GB of data, and a $6.53 credit for the data she didn’t use the month before.
We kept the standard 512 MB plan this month, but ran out of data right before a weekend trip, so we bought an extra 512 MB in case we needed it. It was very easy to do and didn’t take very long to be applied to the account and become usable.
The GSM network is confirmed and so are new phones. You can check them out here: https://republicwireless.com/phones/
It looks like you’ll even be able to bring one of these devices over to Republic Wireless if you already own one. I had also read that they may introduce a $20/month plan that includes 1GB of data. If so, we’ll be jumping on that right away. Since one of the phones is the Nexus 5x and I own use one with Republic Wireless, I’d consider switching if they’re able to make their phones swap between Sprint, GSM (most likely T-Mobile), and WiFi.
If you’ve used Republic or have any questions, let me know in the comments.
